sintered NdFeB and bonded NdFeB

According to the technical route, the NdFeB permanent magnet material is divided into two types: sintered NdFeB and bonded NdFeB. The sintered NdFeb was invented by Sumitomo Metal of Japan, and the bonded NdFeB was invented by Megkun Magnetic of the United States. Sintered NdFeB permanent magnet materials are used in a wider market. Japan Sumitomo is in the leading position of sintered NdFeB with its original patent for sintering NdFeB. In July 2013, the patent for the original composition of sintered NdFeB expired, and Hitachi Metals (Sumitomo) applied for a patent for the process. The patent was highly controversial.

With the advantage of rare earth resources and cost, China has vigorously developed the NdFeB permanent magnet material industry. It has become the world's largest producer and marketer of NdFeB, with an annual output of 100,000 tons, accounting for 80-90% of the world. In the rest of the world, only Germany's vacuum smelting, Japan's Neomax, TDK and Shin-Etsu are producing rare earth permanent magnets. Rare earth permanent magnets have the function of mutual conversion between mechanical energy and electromagnetic energy and various physical effects of magnetism (such as magnetic resonance effect, magnetodynamic effect, magneto-optical effect, magnetochemical effect, magnetic biological effect, magnetoresistance effect and Hall effect, etc.) It is made into magnetic functional devices and is widely used in computers, automobiles, wind power, aerospace, industrial automation and medical fields.
